The name Glenwood is a comination of two words: "glen" and "wood". The word "glen" refers to a narrow valley, typically with a stream running through it, while "wood" describes an area covered with trees. When these two words are merged, they create a name that evokes the image of a pictureque valley filled with lush vegetation.

At Glenwood State School we believe that primary school education begins to pave the way for our students to be able to find and make their own place in our global world. We are proud to be a Queendland State School.
As at the end of February 2024 we have an enrolment of 85 students across our P-6 classes. We currently have 4 classroom teachers who run Prep/1, 2/3, 3/4 and 5/6 classes. Each class receives substantial teacher aide time each day.
Our motto is "Grow with Strength". We are committed as a community to working together to continue both academic and social and emotional growth in all aspects of life, particularly valuing:
